3 Free Health Apps You Need to Use While in School

I believe that our mind is the worse storage place for daily tasks. Phone apps help me remember little things I need to do to stay healthy. School gets busy and a little help might be nice. Your phone is constantly with you so why not utilize it for your health benefit.

I want to share with you five of my favorite mobile apps that I use every day.

1. Plant Nanny

Plant Nanny helps to track your daily water intake. You can plant various different plants and every glass of water makes your plant grow. The app identifies how much water you need to drink based on your daily physical activity, weight, height and several other criteria. You choose the size of your regular cup and it calculates how many cups you need. If you don't drink enough water, your plant first gets sad and later dies. The app is available both for Android and iPhone.

2. MyFitnessPal

MyFitnessPal tracks diet and exercise to identify calorie intake. It calculates how many calories and nutrients like protein, carbohydrates, fiber, sugar, fat and various vitamins you need based on your goal and physical activity. Before I started using this app, I played a game of guessing how much I need to eat. It is not only about how many calories you eat. The app has a huge library of different products. You can even scan a bar code of your food (if it has one) and the app will enter the information for you. As the day goes, you can see how much of different nutrients you have left to eat and tailor your meals to meet your goals.

3. FitOn

FitOn brings world-class fitness trainers to your home. It allows you to choose a workout for different muscle groups. The workouts are about 20 minutes long and offer several levels of intensity. The trainers are always motivating and energetic which helps to get through tough moments of workout sessions. They don't require you to have any special equipment or be in a gym. A mat and some weights are enough to work your body toward success. I always sweat after their workouts and feel stronger. It is a free app but the quality is like paying for $100 dollars classes. The app also offers you challenges like completing 10 workouts in one month.
